An anonymous tip led Wilkesboro Police to a car responsible for a hit and run in the parking lot at Wilkes Community College.  According to the report filed with Police, two cars were parked side by side in the parking lot.  One car was backing out to leave and hit the unoccupied car in the back.  The driver pulled up to see the damage and then left the scene.  An unidentified person got a tag number of the hit and run vehicle.  Police found the car belonged to Michael Steele of Harmony.  Police also obtained video surveillance of the hit and run from the college.  Police contacted Steele who agreed to come by the police station.  Steele was cited with unsafe movement and hit and run.
