She tried to walk out of the store with hundreds of dollars in merchandise.  The Loss Prevention Office of Kohl’s called Wilkesboro Police regarding a shoplifter that they were detaining at the store.  When Police arrived, they were informed that store employees had observed the woman take and conceal 2 pairs of shorts, 10 shirts, and 6 pieces of jewelry.  The woman then tried to walk out of the store without paying for the over 600 dollars in property.  She was detained by the Loss Prevention Officer until Police arrived.  The property was recovered and returned to the store.  The woman was not arrested but was given a citation for shoplifting with a court appearance set for June 1.
