One was caught, and one is sought.  Wilkesboro Police were called out time different times Monday evening to Walmart regarding shoplifters.  In the first report, a manager at the store said an unknown black male had attempted to leave with 3 surround sound systems that he had not purchased.  The man loaded two Sony and one Samsung surround system into a cart and pushed them through the Garden Center.  An employee stopped the man and asked to see a receipt.  The man said he had thrown the receipt away in the store.  The employee asked the man to step back inside the store until a manager could confirm the sale.  The man then ran to a gray colored Oldsmobile car and left the area.  The car was driven by an accomplice.  Employees did get a tag number that the Police are tracking to find the suspect and charges are pending.  The three surround sound systems, valued at nearly 1000 dollars, were recovered by store personnel.  Then a few hours later, Police were called back to Walmart.  This time the shoplifter was being detained.  A store employee stated that he had observed a white female take some underwear and two bathing suits.  She had concealed them and tried to leave the store without paying.  A verbal confrontation ensued when the employee stopped the woman and questioned her about the items.  The woman later admitted to taking the merchandise.  She was not arrested but rather issued a citation for shoplifting and released.  The items she took were returned to the store.
