The Wilkes Sheriff's Office is investigating a list of thefts in the area.  It's a list that include an antique rifle, a dog, and an air conditioner.  A Purlear resident called this week concerning a break-in.  They came home to find that a window was broken out.  Someone entered their home and stole an antique World War II rifle.  No other property was reported stolen.  Then a property owner called about a theft from a house he owns on Old Brickyard Road.  The owner went to check on some property he owns and found that the outside A/C unit had been stolen.  That property is currently unoccupied. The unit was valued at 900 dollars.  There are no suspects in either of those reports.  Then a dog owner in Wilkesboro called about the theft of their Pitbull.  They said the Pitbull was stolen from their front yard.  A suspicious man was seen in the area earlier and Sheriff's Officials have a description of him.  All the investigations are ongoing.
