Two people were injured after a car hit a tractor Tuesday night. Wilkesboro Police investigated the accident. According to the report, James Vannoy of Jefferson was traveling west on Hwy 421 when he collided with a John Deere Tractor. The tractor was traveling below the posted speed limit but did have on hazard lights and flashers at the time of the wreck. Vannoy said he did not see the tractor in time to stop. The tractor did overturn off the side of the road. Vannoy was treated by Wilkes EMS and the tractor driver was taken to WRMC by Wilkes EMS. Vannoy was charged with failure to reduce speed.
