A body was found in the Yadkin River Tuesday afternoon and is the missing man local authorities were searching for 2 weeks ago. The man, Ronald Leonard Watson III, 26, of Purlear, entered the river behind the ABC Store in North Wilkesboro back on April 5. Local authorities searched for a week and Watson was presumed drown although his body was not found. A family member had continued to search by walking up and down the Greenway every day. That family member was walking the Greenway on Tuesday afternoon when they saw something in the water. Local emergency rescue crews arrived and pulled the body from the Yadkin near Blair’s Island between the Wilkesboros. The body was entangle in some trees near the side of the river. An autopsy has been order, but again, due to tattoos and clothing the body found yesterday in the river has been identified as 26-year-old Ronald Watson.
