Wilkes Community College’s Division of College Readiness awarded diplomas at its 38th annual graduation ceremony on Sunday, August 21, at 4 p.m., at the John A. Walker Community Center. Of the 63 graduates, 49 earned a High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, eight received an Adult High School (AHS) diploma and six received the Project College Program’s Skills, Tasks and Results Training (START) certificate. Wilkes Community College, a member of the North Carolina Community College System, is a public, two-year, open-door institution serving the people of Wilkes, Ashe and Alleghany counties and beyond. Established in 1965, WCC continues to build on a strong history of meeting the educational needs and cultural interests of our students, community and workforce. WCC prepares learners for success in a dynamic world.
