Voter registration closes tomorrow, Friday, October 12, 2018 for the November 6th General Election. Residents in Wilkes County who need to register for the first time, or voters who wish to change their name, address or party affiliation must do so before 5:00 p.m. tomorrow. Registration forms are available at the Wilkes County Board of Elections office in the County Office Building. Mail in registration forms are also available at www.wilkescounty.net or the Wilkes County Public Library. A person may also register at the Department of Motor Vehicles if renewing a license. All voter registration forms must be received by the Wilkes County Board of Elections by 5:00 pm tomorrow or be postmarked October 12, 2018 to be applicable for the November 6th General Election. New registrants who miss the deadline may register and vote at a one stop voting site beginning October 17.  Registrants will need to provide proof of residence.
