New Gym at Elkin High Is Delayed

Due to bad soil, the new gym at Elkin High will need an alternative location.  The plans were in the works to renovate the current gym at Elkin High School and also to build a new gym between the old gym and the football field.  However, results of soil samples have caused Elkin School Board of Officials to look for a different location.  Soil samples will now be taken from different locations including the first alternative at the parking lot side of the current gymnasium.  Some estimates now put the project at a year behind schedule.
