This Saturday, is food pickup time. Last Saturday, Boy and Cub Scouts from the Old Hickory Council passed out bags and information on the upcoming Scouting for Food drive to take place across eight counties. Scouting for Food is an early annual event in which local Boy Scouts go door-to-door to pass out plastic bags, which residents may fill with cans and nonperishable food items, and leave outside for pickup this coming Saturday. Most of the collected food will be going to agencies within the county the food is collected and to Second Harvest Food Bank.
