A local agency needs your help to help those in need.  For the first time, the Wilkes Ministry of HOPE is out of split firewood.  The Wilkes Ministry of HOPE, a ministry of the Brushy Mountain Baptist Association, has made firewood available to low income Wilkes County residents for wood-burning stoves and fireplaces for nearly 15 years. Director John Triplett said that there is firewood on-site from various donors ready to be split and can provide wood-splitting equipment, but it doesn’t have enough volunteer labor to maintain the supply of split wood that is needed.  If any youth groups, church groups, or individuals would like to help, please call the Ministry of HOPE at 336-903-1414.
