The Wilkes County Board of Education recently approved some personnel changes.  Dr. Westley Wood was promoted to assistant superintendent of personnel and human resources. Current Principal of the Year, Jeffrey Johnson, of Central Wilkes Middle School, was promoted to director of testing and accountability. Callie Yates Grubb, formerly of Ashe County, was hired by the Wilkes County Schools to be director of pre-k and elementary education. Dr. Donna Cotton was named chief academic officer.  Wilkes Schools Superintendent Mark Byrd said he also plans to announce changes in principal positions before the new school year begins.
