NC Lawmakers Pass Redistricting Maps

The North Carolina House and NC Senate have now passed a bill that redraws the congressional districts in North Carolina. The new congressional map gives Republicans another seat in Congress. The number now stands at 11 Republican and 3 Democratic seats. Democrats say that isn’t a fair representation of the voters in North Carolina. A recent survey shows the state is split 50-50 along party lines among registered voters. The governor cannot veto the bill, so the new map is expected to be challenged in court.
