State of Emergency in NC

In advance of Hurricane Ian’s remnants moving through the state, Governor Roy Cooper declared a State of Emergency Thursday to activate the state’s emergency operations plan, waive transportation rules to help the transport of fuel and critical supplies, help first responders and the agriculture industry and protect consumers from price gouging. North Carolina is preparing to tackle possible heavy rain and flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ian. This Thursday, the State Emergency Response Team activated at the Center or State Emergency Operations in Raleigh. Governor Cooper reminds residents that now is the time to finish making the proper personal preparations. For more information on preparedness, visit: ReadyNC.gov.

Brushy Mountain Apple Festival · Weather update 9/29/22:

After meeting with city and town officials and discussing all the options concerning the 2022 Brushy Mountain Apple Festival we have come to this decision;

The festival is still ON, with the following exceptions.
The Apple Jam festivities that were scheduled for tomorrow evening, Friday 9/30/22, are CANCELED.
Also, all music stages and performances scheduled for Saturday during the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival are CANCELED.
We are going to stand by our vendor policies and contracts that any vendor wishing not to participate in this year's festival can recieve a refund or roll over to next year. You must contact us prior to 7 AM Saturday stating which you would like to do. Anything after 7 AM Saturday will be considered a No-Show and will not recieve a refund. Vendors can make request through: www.applefestival.net or
336-921-3499
We apologize for the changes in schedule and the unfortunate timing with weather but as a small club that has worked year round to ensure a successful return of the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival, rescheduling couldn't happen without monumental shifting that just isn't feasible at this time. However, we are doing everything we can to ensure this festival still takes place for all those who come out to support us and the Brushy Mountain heritage rain or shine. We can't wait to see you all on Saturday and thank you for your understanding and support!
