Driver Leads Deputy on Chase, Passenger Disappears into Woods

Wilkes deputies are on the lookout for a local man who dashed off into the woods after a short police chase yesterday. A deputy reports he was alongside Highway 18 North about 2 yesterday afternoon when a car passed, and he saw the passenger in the car was Eric Burns, a man who has several warrants out for his arrest. He tailed the car onto Byrd Ridge Road and turned on his blue lights, but the car did not stop. The deputy turned on his siren, and still the driver kept going, finally pulling over near Robin Lane and Olive Lane. The deputy detained the driver, 20-year old Lindsey Tyler Ogle, on charges of failing to stop for the light & siren, and for driving with a revoked license. Burns is still being sought.
