An early gift of holiday cheer backfired on a local merchant, who is now out 160-dollars. Donna Miller, the owner of Miller's Latino Market in Miller's Creek. says she felt sorry for a man who came in with a two-party check he said the bank wouldn't cash, so she cashed it. the situation, according to the check writer, is that he didn't have an ID. Miller, who said the check which was presented by a Hispanic male in his early 30's, was made to a Victor Marley. It was dated November 10th, and presented to the business within a few days. The bank returned it to her as being on a closed account on November 30th. Deputies still haven't located the man.
