Adults Fight at WWMS

A fight between two parents Thursday at West Wilkes Middle School had to be broken up by sheriff's deputies. The deputies don't indicate what the fight was about, but they say they were called to the school just before 9pm Thursday, as football practice was ending. The initial report was of a disturbance. The football director approached the deputies and was talking with them when a man came up and said there was going to be trouble. The deputies turned around and found two women fighting. As that fight was being broken up, two men started at it. The deputies had to take both men to the ground to stop that confrontation.
As they were getting everyone separated and finding out what happened, deputies identified the two women in the first fight as Rachel Diane Combs and Kimberly Dawn Love, both of whom face assault and battery charges. Carl Dean Combs was charged with communicating a threat, along with assault and battery. The deputy did not file charges against the other man, Mark Raymond Love, but told the other three people involved how they could pursue a warrant against him if they chose to.
