Wife, Alarm Clock, Punching Bag

Another newly-employed Wilkes man reacted with violence to his wife trying to wake him up for his first day on the new job. 33-year old Spence Clawson allegedly got angry with his wife because she was trying to get him out of bed to go to work -- the first time he had been working for more than a year, according to his wife. She says he hit her in the head, then when she went to the ground he started kicking her, and tried to choke her. Deputies say she did have the signs of some type of abuse on her neck and an arm. By the time they got there, he had disappeared, so they issued a warrant for his arrest on a domestic violence charge.
