Mower, Pressure Washer Stolen

A Wilkes woman says she returned home form a couple of days away to find someone had broken a lock off her storage area in the basement and stolen a mower and a pressure washer. 65-year old Gloria Petros says the crime happened sometime in about a two-day span, between last Saturday morning and Monday morning when she reported it. The value of the stolen items is about 500-dollars. Serial numbers foe both the mower and the pressure washer have been entered in the national crime database, just in case they show up somewhere out of the area. Local pawn shop owners have been alerted to watch for the items. Deputies say nobody nearby reports seeing anything out of place, and they have no leads or suspects at this time. The case remains under investigation.
