More Wilkes Car Break-Ins

The Sheriff’s Department has also been busy this month investigating car break-ins.  There were multiple car break-ins in various locations around the county including one in North Wilkesboro.  The victim lives on Union Methodist Church Road and their car was parked at their residence at the time of the break-in.  Sometime overnight, someone threw a brick through a window on the car and removed several things.  Stolen from the car were a Miche bag, a cell phone, and about 300 dollars in cash.  Then a Millers Creek resident also reported break-in of their Dodge SUV.  The vehicle was parked under the carport at the home of the victim and the theft occurred overnight.  The vehicle was left unlocked, so this time, no damages were reported.  The thief just reached inside the SUV and stole a pocketbook, a brown leather travel bag, and some cash.  Stolen property is valued at almost 700 dollars.  No suspects were listed with either report and the investigation is continuing.
