Wilkes Christmas Parade Is Saturday

It’s this Saturday, and this year’s theme for the Wilkes Christmas Parade is “Christmas Hopes & Wishes.”  Grand Marshalls for this year’s Christmas parade is the Wilkes County 11-and-12-year-old Little League All-Stars Softball Team, which took third place in the Little League Softball World Series.  Parade route is the same with the start at North Wilkesboro’s Sixth Street, then to Main Street, 10th Street, D Street, CBD Loop, Wilkesboro Boulevard, across over the Yadkin River Bridge, down Wilkesboro’s Main Street, and end at Main and Curtis Bridge Road Intersection.  The registration table on Saturday will be at the corner of Ninth Street in downtown North Wilkesboro.   Check-in begins at 7 a.m.  Completed entry forms should be returned by today and are available at the Wilkes Chamber of Commerce office at 717 Main Street in North Wilkesboro or online http://www.wilkesnc.org/WilkesChristmasParade.htm.  The chamber asks that candy not be thrown but rather be handed to attendees by participants walking the parade route.
