NC Senator Hosts Academy Day for Students

U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (NC) invites all North Carolina 7th through 12th grade students interested in U.S. military service academies to attend Academy Day on Saturday, September 17. Hagan hosts Academy Day each year to give students an opportunity to meet with cadets and midshipmen from the service academies and learn more about the nomination process.  Students that apply to service academies require a nomination from a member of Congress. Academy Day is an opportunity for students to hear from Hagan and members of her staff about the nomination process through Hagan’s office.  Representatives from all five services academies - the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and U.S. Naval Academy - will provide information to students, parents and guidance counselors.  Hagan to host Academy Day for students interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy this Saturday, September 17 at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, 100 Bragg Blvd, Fayetteville.  Registration is at 10 a.m. and the program begins at 10:30 a.m.
