More Car Break-Ins This Week

Officers with the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department spent a lot of time Monday taking reports from area residents regarding car break-ins. In the first report, a resident on Middlebrook Drive stated that when he got up Monday morning, he found his car had been entered. Sunglasses and a sunglass case were the only things reported missing from the vehicle. A neighbor reported seeing a silver 4-door car, possibly a BMW, driving up and down the road about 3am.
A second was called in from a nearby resident on Kerry Lane. This time the victim stated that someone had entered his Honda Accord and had stolen a burlap sack containing some bank statements and deposit slips. His sunglasses were broken and left on the ground beside the car. Also 4 gospel CD’s were taken.
Then while deputies were patrolling the area after taking the car break-in reports, they saw 3 vehicles with doors open at a residence on Laurelwood Drive. The victim stated that several things were taken from his vehicles including a Ruger pistol, rolls of quarters, cash, keys, tools, and a briefcase. Stolen property is valued over 500 dollars. Again, Sheriff’s Investigators are looking for a 4-door silver car that was seen in the area early Monday morning.
