Assault at the Swimming Hole with Ax

Warrants have been issued for a person involved in an aggravated assault over the weekend.  A report filed with the Wilkes Sheriff’s Department on Saturday stated that a woman was taken to the hospital after she was cut with a bush ax.  The incident happened at the swimming hole near the Intersection of Mertie and Vannoy roads.  The reasons for the fight was not explained in the report.  At least one person was hurt when someone started swinging a bush ax.  The female victim had injuries to a hand and a foot.  She was taken by Wilkes EMS to WRMC for treatment.  Again warrants were issued for the assailant and charges are pending their arrest.
