Stolen From Weekend Home

Remember that old saying:  When the cat is away....the mice will play.  Well, here in Wilkes when the homeowner is away from their weekend home the thieves will play.  A property owner in Millers Creek has a weekend house at an Old NC 16 location.  While the homeowner was away, someone broke into the house by pushing an air conditioning unit through a window.  Nothing was reported stolen from the house.  The thief also broke into an outbuilding on the property and stole a garden tiller valued at 600 dollars.  There is no word on suspects at this time.  The Wilkes County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
