Wilkesboro Business Owners and Employee Arrested on Drug Charges

According to the Wilkesboro Police, it was the result of an ongoing investigation that led the arrest of two business owners and an employee on drug charges. During an on-going investigation, Wilkesboro Police were able to develop probable cause to go to the Magistrate for a search warrant. On Tuesday, Police executed the search warrant at Pipe Dreams at 102 East Main Street. At that time, 151 packages of suspected synthetic cannabinoids or synthetic drugs, 1.5 grams of marijuana, 5 hydrocodone pills, 356 dollars in cash, and a large amount of smoking pipes and drug paraphernalia were seized. An employee, Mr. Stewart Adams, was charged with 3 misdemeanor counts of drug possession. Business owners, Mr. Christopher and Mrs. Bonnie Staggs were charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver, criminal use of counterfeit trademark, manufacture or delivery of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining dwelling to sell a controlled substance. The suspected synthetic drugs will be sent to the SBI for analysis.
