F-35's Built in NC

Governor Pat McCrory joined aerospace, defense and government leaders recently at Carolinas Aviation Museum for a firsthand demonstration of the Lockhead Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter that will be built, maintained and based in North Carolina. “The F-35 project builds on North Carolina’s lasting legacy as a leader in aerospace innovation,” said Governor McCrory. “We are proud to be on the forefront of protecting our country, while creating jobs and economic opportunity across our state and beyond.” North Carolina has 12 first tier aerospace suppliers in the F-35 program supporting more than 1,220 high-paying jobs and generating over $103 million in economic impact. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina is expected to receive 94 F-35 Lightning II aircraft, more than any other single Marine Corps air station in the country.
