Attempted Purse Snatching

Wilkesboro Police are also investigating an attempted purse snatching.  The victim was standing outside Walmart talking on her cellphone when another woman came up and tried to steal her pocketbook.  There was a struggle and the would-be thief finally ran off without the purse.  Witnesses got a tag number of the vehicle the suspect left in and Police are attempting to contact the car owner.  Charges of common law robbery are pending.
