Waste Management and Recycling Electronics Locally

The state Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Waste Management has awarded $600,000 to 83 county and city governments to support local electronics management programs for residents to recycle electronics like TV's and computers.  Here in Wilkes, the Wilkes County Solid Waste on Elkin Hwy in Roaring River will accept some items.  A complete list of electronics accepted at the Wilkes Landfill can be found at http://wilkescounty.net/landfill-services-and-prices/.  Other collection sites locally include:  the Goodwill on N. Bridge St., Elkin and the Goodwill on CC Camp Road in Elkin. Some sites do not take televisions, but will accept electronics, computers and computer-related items.
