USDA Training Farmers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary announced last week an investment of $27.9 million across 45 organizations that teach and train beginning farmers and ranchers, including programs for U.S. veterans who are entering into agricultural careers and starting new farming businesses. Four of the 45 groups getting are here in North Carolina. The funding ranges from $49,000 to $710,000 and includes: Tarboro, Lenoir, Stoneville, and Chapel Hill.
