Teen to be Charged in Fatal Wreck

The teen-ager behind the wheel in a head-on crash that killed a North Wilkesboro man will be charged in connection with the wreck. Authorities say 17-year old Jeremy Tyler Watts crossed the center line on Highway 268 in Yadkin Valley August 15th, and collided head-on with the pickup driven by 54-year old Gary Michael Parsons of North Wilkesboro. The wreck also injured Parsons' girlfriend's ten-aged daughter. Troopers say speed is to blame for the wreck, as Watts is believed to have been driving about 45 or 50 miles an hour. He faces a charge of misdemeanor death by vehicle, and has received tickets for fictitious tag and seatbelt violations.
