Fire & Rescue College in Wilkes

The 28^th Annual Northwest Fire and Rescue College is going on through Saturday on the grounds of Wilkes Community College and the Wilkes Fire Service Training Ground.  The 3-day event began on Thursday and continues through Saturday.  Hundreds of firefighters, first responders, and other emergency rescuers from across the state are expected in Wilkes for this training event.  Participants can sign up for a list of classes and courses being taught at the college or at the Fire Training Ground.  Also there will be a time of remembrance for those who have served and passed from here in Wilkes.  The Northwest Fire and Rescue College is co-sponsored by Wilkes Firefighter’s Association, Wilkes Rescue Squad, and WCC.
