DWI Arrest in Wilkesboro

Wilkesboro Police charged an Elkin man with DWI after he failed a couple of field sobriety tests at a license checkpoint recently.  The man, Miguel Guinea, drove his Honda Civic to a license checkpoint on Oakwoods Road.  A Police Officer noticed the smell of alcohol and asked Guinea to get out of the car.  When he failed two sobriety tests, the police conducted an alco-sensor test.  Guinea blew .09.  The legal limit in North Carolina is .08.  Police also found that Guinea’s driver’s license expired in September of last year.  Guinea was arrested for DWI and no operator’s license.  His court date is set for September of this year.
