Same Car...Same Victim...Another Time

Did the same thief returned to the scene of the crime or was it someone else but the same car?  While she was at work, someone broke into her car and stole property from inside the vehicle.  It happened a month ago, and it happened again over the weekend.  Wilkesboro Police were called to the JC Penney’s parking lot when some clothing and two prescription bottles were found in a parking space.  The name of the prescriptions led Police to an employee at Applebee’s.  The woman told Police that the property that he recovered had been in her car while she was at work.  She had not been able to secure the car since a window was still broken in the vehicle from a previous break-in.  Again, she had been at work when the theft occurred.  The victim had left her pocketbook locked up in the trunk, but a button inside the glove compartment opened the trunk.  Apparently, the thief had used the button to open the trunk and steal the purse.  Police advised the woman to stop leaving valuables in her car especially if the car could not be locked.  No suspects were listed; Wilkesboro Police are continuing to investigate.
